Primary Open-Angle Glaucoma

Primary open angle glaucoma is an optic neuropathy with progressive, chronic, and irreversible damage of optic nerve fibers. This damage occurs because of open anterior chamber angles, abnormalities, and an increased pressure within eye. It is associated with increased cupping optic nerve head. Care must be sough if any of these risk factors are present - past medical history, past eye surgery, current medications, ocular trauma, any other risk factor of glaucoma. Screening is important if the people are at high risk of glaucoma.
